ZENO MOUNTAIN
Zeno Mountain is a world class writing, recording and mixing space in Vermont, designed by legendary architect and acoustician Martin Pilchner. The intuitive workflow and design borrows from the best rooms I’ve worked in (Richard Swift’s National Freedom, Studio Bell NMC, Gary Paczosa’s Minutia, Sound Emporium Studio A, Downtown Studio A) and along the way resolves many of the details I always felt were missing for the way I like to work (which is fast and adventurous). Perched atop an open hillside, large windows bath the oversize control room with natural light and views of the Adirondack mountain range. The live room is comfortably big enough to track drums, and houses an extensive collection of guitars, synths, and other instruments. We spent nearly three years building this space and it’s easily one of the best sounding and feeling rooms I’ve ever been in.
